Trying to collect a bit of information on my last name…

This is Herman Helb (1874-1944). He is  was a four star General in the (presumably) Dutch military.

His mother was Indonesian.

He commanded an exploration expedition from 1911 to 1913 in New Guinea. Helb Mountain is named after him.

He died in a Japanese prison (during World War II?).
