Books to purchase

In an attempt to avoid those “what were those books that I wanted to get?” moments, here are two books I would like to purchase.

Collins, Nicolas. Handmade Electronic Music: The Art of Hardware Hacking, 2nd Edition. New York: Routledge, 2009. 978-0-415-99873-4

Holmes, Thom. Electronic and Experimental Music: Technology, Music and Culture, 3rd Edition. New York: Routledge, 2008. 978-0-415-95782-3

UPDATE: (October 18, 2009) Good news everybody, you can breathe again. I bought them both.

Thanks for Coming!!

Around the corner from our old place in Philly, there was a bar that I had never actually seen open for business. Apparently I just never walked by on the correct nights (even though I passed it every day or two). They were open, just (again, apparently) not in any reliable manner, as displayed in this note (written on a large piece of cardboard) left on the front door. I left it there for a day or two before I took it just so whomever it was addressing might also see it. I hope they did.

Thanks for Coming!!

Natural Bridge Wax Museum

A few years ago, we took a “directional trip” in which we picked a direction and started driving. We did a few of these; they were cheap and always interesting. On this particular trip, we pointed southwest from Philadelphia and ended up driving through a lot of Virginia. We ended up at Natural Bridge, Virginia where we discovered, among other more “natural” sites the Wax Museum at Natural Bridge which included several scenes of American history, generic scenes of “frontier life,” and the below wax recreation of the last supper.
